About Bridging Cultures

Bridging Cultures is a special initiative from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).  This initiative is intended to use the humanities to promote mutual understanding and respect.  


About Muslim Journeys

The McKinstry Library has been chosen to receive a Bridging Cultures:  Muslim Journeys grant.  This grant is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities conducted in cooperation with the American Library Association's Public Programs Office, the Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies at George Mason University, Oxford University Press, and Twin Cities Public Television.  As part of this grant McKinstry Library received 25 books, 3 DVDs with public performance rights, a one year subscription to Oxford Islamic Studies Online.  McKinstry Library will also be hosting a book reading group and several public programs featuring specialists in Islamic history, culture, and religion.
