About the Jazz Studies Program

This program option is designed for students who desire to pursue a performing and/or teaching career in jazz and commercial music.  Many students who choose this option will be better prepared to continue their studies at the graduate level and in other professional programs in their specific area.  This program confers a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies Degree.


The Johnston Center for Performing Arts

The Johnston Center for Performing Arts is home to both the Theatre and Music departments.  The Karl Meyer Theatre, with a seating capacity of 300, is the primary venue for all shows and productions at LC. Also, the Johnston Center contains the Hostick Studio with a seating capacity of 80, the Vance Family Dance Studio, and general/studio classrooms that are all conveniently located within.
